Linda Joy Gross Center For Child Development
houses the Infant-Toddler Program, the Preschool Program and the youngest classes of the
George Crothers memorial School.
The Infant Toddler Program
provides center-based, home-based and community-based services to children birth to
three years old who have delays in one or more areas of development, and their families.
Services include special education, social work, physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Teachers and therapists provide families with education and connection to resources needed
to facilitate a safe and stimulating home experience that enables each child to reach their

The Preschool
provides a half-day developmental program for children three to five years old.
The program utilizes an integrated model to provide speech, occupational and physical therapy,
as well as vision education. Children participate in large and small group activities that
facilitate individual growth and development in the areas of fine and gross motor
skills, receptive and expressive language social/emotional skills, self-help skills and

The George Crothers Memorial School
is a private, state-licensed school for individuals with cerebral palsy or brain
injury between the ages of 2 and 21. The ungraded special education classes include academic and
life skills training as well as vocational, therapeutic, social and recreational
activities. The challenging program strives to develop each student to his or her

The Adult Day Program
is open year-round, Monday through Friday, not including holidays. It provides
purposeful activities for adults with physical and or/developmental disabilities
following the completion of their special education programs and is geared towards
facilitating an adjustment into community life. The program's emphasis is social interaction
with other adults, both disabled and non-disabled through planning and participating in recreational
activities, community activities and life skills experience. For more information

The Adult Activities Program
is open year-round,Monday through Friday, not including holidays. It provides activities
for adults with severe developmental and/or physical disabilities following the completion
of their special education programs. The emphasis is on maintaining and/or improving
the quality of life through a program of planned activities designed to meet their
unique social, mental and physical needs.

Community Residential Programs
enable mentally and/or physically disabled children and adults to live as independently
as possible in a community setting. During the day, individuals attend either an educational
or a sheltered employment program, are involved in competitive employment, volunteer in the community or participate in a home based
activity program. Life skills and social activities are emphasized during evenings and weekends.
The result: the development of skills and attitudes that enable residents to interact, and be

The Summer Program
is open to children between the ages of 5 and 8 years who have physical and/or
developmental disabilities. This program is designed to maintain skills learned
